Late Bow Season, ELK GMU 328 Naneum

So missed out on elk in my 328 spot this year for early season, and am looking at going back again. Just north up mineral springs, is my usual spot... Ok, not usual but last year during modern i got a cougar and 7-10 mins later in search of my cougar i landed my true spike elk... Lucky i know, this season i've been skunked at deer (they only come out during darkness) or wasn't a reasonable buck.
Went out for bear since day one and only ran into 2 sets of sows with cubs, and a few little guys... Passed on them, been out once or twice a week with my bow up in the Sultan Basin. Haven't seen much activity, besides mushroom pickers.
Nov 26, late elk opens and am looking for feedback from others. I did not win multi season like last year, and am only doing archery. My best guess is bring a chain saw, and snow boots, not sure if its tree stand time or walk around and follow tracks. The fire didnt affect my hunting spot, so im hoping for a few nice days.
Any advice, or has anyone been out scouting lately? I plan this friday, and always put in the effort to look prior to posting....
Food for thought?? Suggestions welcome
Cheers
Thank you

My spot is up around 3500ft, i see rain and snow mix forecast for this weekend. Might leave the commuter car at home and take the truck....
Elk up this high during cold weather? or is it a good idea to stick to lower elevation compared to the meadow?

Good luck out there during late bow. I'll be over in 352. Since Modern closed yesterday I might give it another week to let them settle down a bit. I try to get out the second Friday after modern closes. If it's brutal cold like last year better bring an extra chain for the chain saw.
Last year the morning after the fresh snow there was nothing mid-range ... we found a few cows down low and I drew back on one lone bull up high. I couldn't verify he was a 1x2 or a 2x2 so had to let him walk.
Toe warmers were a must for tree-stand sitting.

I agree with extra chain learned that last year, you might not just be helping yourself out... helped two jeeps/old school bronco out last year. One chain isn't enough
Good luck to you as well
I know some of you are reading this, any good stories from previous late elk seasons?
or must have gear? besides the usual

Tire chains, shovel (or 2 in case 1 breaks or you got a buddy), kitty litter and/or ice melt, more than 1 pair of gloves and hat. Just my
oh, a winch with extra tow straps, extra straps came in handy more than once.

The elk will be spread wide. Don't always think high, after rifle lot of animals are pushed low. Camp low drive high is my suggestion. We have had to pack camp up in the dark and move lower due to snow coming down (and we are 2 4x4 trucks cains on all 4 tires).
