If it is the any buck tag I would recommend focusing on the Mule deer?  There are usually some good deer up on Bonaparte.
Just my thoughts. Good luck

I hunt and own a little piece of property around Chesaw and my rancher friend tells the bucks start really showing them self's around thanksgiving. Is this the 1023 east okanogan modern any buck or the whitetail buck tag nov.1-20th?

Havillah is a good spot to start for whiteys...... Hunt the draws above towards Bonaparte... Watch where you r not all of it is public... But if you r on public don't let the outfitters push u out.....
Good tag someday I'll draw it... 13 pts next year

There are a lot of whitetail deer on the nickelson creek road but the first few miles out of chesaw except for the wildlife area on the left  are private property. If you like knocking on doors thats fine also.

Nicholson Creek would be the place I'd go. Marias Creek to Nicholson is pretty much roadless. You have old skidder roads with Kelly humps, so pickups won't be buzzing all around you.

Be advised. ORV's are 100 % LEGAL to ride in the Okanogan National Forest if they are registered with the correct, up to date stickers from the dol. They don't have to be street legal either.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

I have hunted this area for 15 years.  Try the land up Lost Lake Rd. out of Havillah.  Or the areas above Highlands Snow Park. Unfortunately there will be out of control cattle populations in both areas but, Great Whitetails.

The cows are supposed to be gathered and gone now. You might have ones that wouldn't come in yet...........

My brother is over burning piles at our cabin and had a 4x4 walk to within 50 feet or so before turning and walking off. Said neck was really fat (he is not a hunter) made the head look small but the antlers looked cool. Sounds like a littel rut activity going on. Good luck to your son .
