Changes to spring bear season - part three.

Just wanted to give everyone an update on what is happening with the spring bear season change proposal.
Here are links to the other two threads to help keep things easy to find and refer to:
Link to thread #1:
http://hunting-washington.com/smf/index.php/topic,163211.0.html
Link to thread #2:
http://hunting-washington.com/smf/index.php/topic,165396.0.html
Now for today's update. I had a very long and pleasant phone conversation with Dr. Georg Ziegltrum, WFPA, Animal Damage Control Supervisor. A copy of my proposal packet ended up on his desk this morning and he and I spoke at length about it.
He is very interested in the proposal and indicated a willingness to assist in the process. He offered me some insight that I was not aware of and will be following up with. And as always, will keep every one updated when I have something solid to share.
I want to thank those who have taken time to voice support for this proposal, both on here and with WFPA. This process is far from complete, but we are on our way. Where we will ultimately end up with this is still uncertain, but we are getting people's attention and so far, I am getting positive responses...
Now for the hook...OOHHH YEAH, there is always a hook!!!
If there are any HuntWa members who are currently on the WDFW Commission, I would like to have a few minutes of your time for some conversation and questions I have.
If you prefer to not reveal your affiliation with the Commission on the open forum, please PM me. I will not reveal any identities/usernames, if you wish to keep your presence on here anonymous.
Again, thank you all for your support.
Stay tuned....

Are you able to describe the insight from Dr. Ziegltrum?

I want to be able to when I do make an update posting, I post strong, solid information and not put a lot of unnecessary "maybe" or "possibly" "what if" and so forth, type things out here regarding this issue. Stuff like that serves no constructive purpose.
My reason for mentioning that was because, after talking him, it was apparent that he had given my proposal more than a passing glance and was not just making a courtesy contact. He had clearly looked it over and was very engaged during our conversation and I felt that was noteworthy to mention.
His interest and the fact that he took time out of his day to reach out as soon as he did was very much appreciated, and I felt worthy of sharing that fact.
Regardless, I will still be working on my presentation for the Legislature, as that is going to be the biggest hurdle we face. And will do an updated thread again at that time, just as I did when I sent it out to WFPA.

The number is HB 1838, introduced by Rep. Drew MacEwen.
Link to bill:
http://lawfilesext.leg.wa.gov/biennium/2015-16/Pdf/Bills/House%20Bills/1838.pdf
Now is the time to start calling, emailing, writing your local Representatives and Senators and ask them to vote in favor of HB 1838.

Rep MacEwen's office just informed me the public hearing is set for Feb 10th @ 10:00, House Hearing Rm B, John L O'Brian building.
As many able to stop in, it sucks it is during the day, but it is when it is, that would be willing and able to show support would be great.
Hope to see some of you there, and if you haven't already, contact your local area lawmakers and ask for theirvsupport. We are close, let's see if we can finish it off!
Thanks all, Dennis ""Blacktail Sniper."
