We have some good people here that I'm sure will connect.

I'll be up the hill this Thursday heading in.

What a great hunt,  guys in Colorado will wait for years to draw this kind of hunt.

Remember 170 class of bust!

first of all...let me say...that if you are going on this hunt, you have already gotten lucky enough to post a report and some pictures.... :) i plan on spending many sleepless hours in the next few weeks and i'm gonna need some trip reports and pictures to look at *censored*!!!!
deer killed or no deer killed...please
second of all...good luck to everyone, have a great time and soak it all in.

3 more days till its time to head into the high country.  I will give a report when I get back next week and look forward to seeing other reports and pictures.  Looks like the weather is going to be pretty dang nice for the first few days.  Hopefully not too hot.

What equipment are you guys taking in for the hike?

I'll be taking a Kelty Freighter with a Blacks Creek Alaskan strapped to it.  Two packs, one to get me to base camp then the Black Creek to get me up the mountain.    I like to get as high as I can for the look see.   With Friday spent looking "up" trying to put a nice buck to bed.

Ain't gonna be no horses where I'm going.

Steiner 10x42's and a Nikon XL Spotter will accompany me.

For a tent,  a MSR Hubba one man tent will be my dwelling.  Darn thing is only 20" wide but it is less than 3 lbs.

Pocket rocket and Mountain House will feed me.

Rifle will be a Rem 700 Titanium in 6.5x284.  6.5 lbs exact, nice!

Really look forward to trip reports next week.

Take care fellas and be safe.

BobM, how the hell do you get into a tent that is 20" wide?  Heck a standard sleeping bag is 33" wide.  That tent of yours would fit one of my thighs. :chuckle:
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.
You are never to old to learn something stupid.

Most lots are busy enough that they are fairly safe.  Lots of packers going in and out etc.  Some even have base camps at some of the more popular entrances.  LEts see lots of pics!
