GMU 667 late archery
« on: November 26, 2014, 09:58:00 PM »
Anyone spend any time in this area? I will be trompin around in there Friday and probably Saturday. It's semi close to home so I figure I'll give it a shot. Never really hear much talk of this unit but I figure what the hell haha.

Anyone gonna be up there or have any tips for me? Go high or stay low? Looking to possibly get my first elk and fill the freezer after my toughest hunting year yet!

Good luck to all and if you'll be up there I'd love to meet up and BS.

Zack

Zack,
I'll be in the East side of 667 Friday and Saturday.  Look for a Gold Suburban or a Grey F150.

Zack,
I will also be going out Friday and Saturday in hopes of getting my first Elk. I've never been to that area, but it's not too far away from Puyallup. I'll be in a Black Dodge Ram so feel free to flag me down.

Exactly why it's so popular. With 90% of the areas locked up by Weyco, areas outside the tree farm are getting hit harder than ever.

Good luck on your hunts, guys!

RClare1223,
Too bad for you.  Nonetheless, you saw more than me.  I had a hard time getting into places today.  Were you on the East side of 667?  I do go into Randle, very little action.

Yeah I was up off the 74rd just above highway 7. No tracks or sign today in the snow.

Randle has been a bit disappointment this year. In years past I've seen lots of deer and a decent amount of elk but this year I have only seen 2 deer up there after scouting all summer. Hoping to go somewhere next weekend as well. Just not sure where to head at this point.

I was off 25 on the SE corner.  I saw no trail/track/sign.  The fog rolled in and made it tougher to see  distance.  Wanted to go further in, but the rain and fog shut me down.

I tried to access 70 and 74, but too much traffic.  There was a white jeep dumping crap on 70.  I tried to get a photo, but didn't turn out.

This has been a discouraging year for me; mostly due to my son not tagging along.  I usually solo hunt, but like his presence on weekends.  It's his 18th bday on Wednesday.  He won't be with me, but maybe I can knock something down.

I'm headed down this Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.  I'll probably try 74 on Wednesday.
