Beavers are one of the less difficult critters to find. Around here any decent creek has them. They arent shy about leaving sign. I don't know what the regs are now since I quit nuisance trapping. Personally if you just want one pelt, save yourself the hassle and just buy one.

Moses lake, down by rocky ford, over thanksgiving had to try wrapping the tree back up at the inlaws place due to beaver outsmarting the wire previously put up around the trees.

What are beaver pelts worth these days?  I know someone who is having an issue with them that might be looking for an EXPERIENCED trapper.

Wilbur-Creston area. If you can find some farmer/rancher types that will let you trap the creeks in that area you'll find beaver.

Drain 239 has a few, call the regional office for directions to it.  I stumble across a few every year fishing it in the late summer, they are super busy loading up the wood!

Worked a place in the Methow, was great every fall,  BUT the state took over and destroyed the habitat and they are not there anymore.  :sry:

One spot was good for at least a dozen every fall!

That's one of my all-time favorite quotes. I still smile when I hear it - even after 500 times. Kinda reminds me of "be careful what ya ask fer. Ya just might git it".

I wouldn't think finding beaver would be much of a problem. I see them everywhere there's moving water and it doesn't take that much flowing water to attract them. I've often wondered if a recording of the sound of running water would attract them. I've watched them for hours.

I, too, would be curious to know what a  beaver pelt goes for these days.
