I have a supernova and m2, both are great shotguns. I dont think you can go wrong with a Benelli, but I'd highly recommend a camo version. Waterfowling is a wet sport and it's easier to keep rust off a camo gun. I don't have a SBE II but have shot them and they are good guns too. Same with the Vinci, great gun.

Take a look at the Stoger M3500 it has the same guts as the black eagle but it is only $600-700.  :twocents:

I have an 8 year old battered SBE II and Nova and have shot others - my next gun is probably another SBE II .

winchester sx3 is a sweet gun at a good price point as well! it really just depends on what fits you, but there is no going wrong with a benelli

I have an m2 and it points very well for me. The inertia action is easy to clean and reliable.

I'm a fan of the Versa Max. Shoots every time, light recoil.

Stoger M3500 or a Winchester SX3, I will not shoot another Benelli, I've dumped 6 or 7 of them I'd rather be kicked by a mule. I shoot a Beretta 391 or a Baikal MP-153 both are much easyer on the dental work.  :twocents:

I have a Benelli Super Vinci, and I would trade it in a second if it didn't have sentimental value to me.   Kicks me in the cheek like all the recoil is landing on my cheek bone.   Tried all the shims....same thing.   Patterns like crap and shoots high.  I can drop ducks one after another with my other gun, yet every time I take out the Benelli I can go through a box of shells for a limit.   My advice is to try one first.  Make sure it fits you and patterns where you want it to.  I would not recommend them.

I don't understand how shotguns pattern differently. They are relatively simple right? I mean its not like a rifle, is it just design error that has the shell sit differently?

It's not simple at all actually. Some barrel tapers throw better patterns then others. A few .001's one way or the other makes a difference. Oddly enough The guns the pattern the best are the mossberg 835/935.
