first deer sheds of the year??
« on: December 24, 2014, 06:06:16 AM »
Thank God the antlers of deer and elk fall off each year. Or else I'd go into a 9 month depression  :). As hunting season comes to a close I'm getting excited to wander the woods in search of new hunting haunts and getting to know my old ones more intimately. Often times this can be rewarded with the majestic bone that most of us dream about all year. I've seen some blacktails drop horns by now so I'm impatiently waiting to see some pics of the beginning of this year's crop! Good luck to you all in finding your sheds! And Merry Christmas!

I know what you mean! I'm sitting here shaking getting so excited, I was actually playing with a couple sets from last year. And worked with my pup for the 1st time since last spring.

Just got home.  every buck still had horns -  despite how many times i made them bounce away - will wait a few days and try again.  going to a new place on tuesday where I was at last summer and saw a ton of big bucks - should be a good horn glassing spot for horns and maybe a coyote or two.
