Going to go progressive, RED or GREEN

I decided I needed to pick up a progressive press. I am going back and fourth on which to get. I have always liked rcbs and lately I have been buying more hornady stuff.

So I am looking at the hornady LNL progressive with ez-ject and the rcbs pro 2000.

I am just looking for some feedback from the guys running them. If there are things that you like about them and don't like please let me know.

I have only ever loaded with a progressive dillion my buddy has and no I am not spending that much money lol.

I have heard great things about the hornady.....but have personally never used one.  Haven't heard much about the RCBS.  Whichever you buy please give a review as I will be in the market come late summer.

I personally us a Lee and Lyman turret presses because I like to weigh all my powder charges. I would look at a Ponsness/Warren METALLIC II  it is a  Semi-Progressive Single-Stage Rifle and Pistol Reloader. If the Metallic is as good as their shot shell loaders you have a win-win and they are somewhat local for us Rathdrum ID, and great customer service.  If it doesn't float your boat then go with the Hornady they have better customer service than RCBS so I've been told.

That is why I have never bought one before. I like to weigh each load. Yet for the 223 which is what I am going to  be using it for I don't have to be super precise.

Mid South has the Hornady LNL progressive on sale for $390, maybe I need one . Wife would say you got another press, you have 4 why do you need another?? And besides you have 6 for shot shells, I bet you will be asking for an addition to your reloading room.

Have you checked out used ones? I sold one about 3 months ago for $300, and another one a few weeks ago for $450 with a couple of caliber conversions. They weren't mine, I sold them for a buddy who picked them up at an estate sale. I'm a Lee single stage guy personally. I have a Lee progressive press (got it for $30) for loading handgun ammo and I hate that thing with a passion! a friend has the Hornady LNL, and he loves it. I still hate it. I just need to weigh each powder charge or I feel like I'm cheating. Unless somebody makes a progressive that I can load my 375 BME on.

 I'm watching for used blue presses all the time and they really hold their value. Most of the time if they are even 10% below a new one they are sold the 1st day. I want a 1050 in the worst way.

I have looked around a little for them with little to no luck.

Like I said other then loading a little on a friends progressive I have always been a single stage press guy. However I am burning enough 223 that I am ready to cheat a little and go progressive

Dillon has there basic loader that you can start out with. Price from Dillon is $259.95. You can add parts to it as $$ allows and end up with a 550B when it's all said and done.
