This is my entry of a Great Gray Owl (Strix nebulosa).  Picture was taken in the Blue Mtns.
It never changes, but it is always different.

Thanks to everyone for your comments, it was more a matter of being in the right place at the right time than being any kind of master of my camera.  In short, I got lucky.

Actually I have quite a few of the old boy bugling.  Unfortunately the positioning of the other elk in the herd weren't always conducive to getting good photographs.  I got several like this, I was so zoned in on the bull that I didn't even notice the other elk's positions.  Kind of distracting, don't you think? :chuckle:
