They are charging us more for less opportunity.  Take hunting on the West side where we both live, Bobcat. A Washington resident elk license is $50.40 throw in a multi season license at $180 and $200 for an access permit if any are even available and compare that with a non resident Idaho license at $154.75 and an elk tag at $416.75 and it's pretty close. Plus in Idaho, I can camp, hunt deer at the same time, and ride a quad on designated roads and trails and the seasons are much longer making it more convenient to plan a hunt. Throw in a Washington deer tag at $44.90, and another $200 access permit because I don't hunt deer the same place I hunt elk, and another any season tag at $110 for deer if you were to draw it and compare that to throwing a non res deer tag at $301.75 into the Idaho mix.

So I can have a nice convenient Idaho non res hunt combination deer and elk hunt for $873.25. Or I could end up spending $785.30 for a not so convenient (shorter time frames and different seasons for deer and elk, plus no camping) RESIDENT deer and elk hunt in Western Washington. What a privilege to live and hunt in this State. And that doesn't even consider the hunting leases that are popping up with Timber owners like Rayonier.
Nothing at all wrong with Idaho, but if you have a multi-season deer permit I can't believe you would have more hunting days in Idaho. You could hunt just about non-stop from September through December with one.
Nature. It's cheaper than therapy.

I've drawn both deer and elk.  If you have the time to devote to hunting all seasons, it can really be a blast.

I always think it's funny when guys say they won't buy it because they don't have that much time off. I've actually found it even more beneficial if you have limited or less flexible time. With several seasons to cherry pick days from you have much more opertunity if time is a factor

Exactly. I do have quite a bit of vacation time, but I'll be using at least a week of that for a Wyoming hunt, and I like the idea of the multiple season tag allowing me to hunt a lot of weekends, and also to hunt with people who I wouldn't be able to hunt with otherwise, because we bought different tags. If I do draw the multi season, I'll probably take a week off for either the archery or the muzzleloader season, but other than that I'll probably hunt a lot of three day weekends.

I'm in The same boat. I have four weeks vacation and the ability to take pretty much whet ever else I want off but most all of my vacation time is accounted for with elk here and out of state hunts for deer. So I buy the multi season tag, take my girls out during rifle season and usually end up shooting a buck during muzzy. Elk when I've  been drawn it is great for applying for hunts I useally don't get to apy for but it doesn't change my elk season unless I draw, and I haven't . Deer should be over the counter and really it's laughable that it isn't . That will likly  be the next change for this tag

Well, this year the proposal is for the unsold multi season deer tags to go up for sale first come, first serve, beginning in August.

Wow. That's a huge increase. I think that currently only about half are sold. Add another 4000 individuals that can hunt all seasons.

That would be nice.  I assume online sales will count?

So I wonder if one would've needed to purchase an app and go through the drawing to be eligible to purchase the unsold Aug 1 permits.  Also, wonder if it would clear out accumulated points to buy like that.

It's funny, when I select a season and set my week I usually harvest. However,  while I've harvested on Mult-Sea as well, I also tend to put seasons off due to weather, family responsibility, or some other issue (laziness) until I realize I blew the season.

Do I get my $6.60 back if they open it to those who don't apply but can purchase if opened up August 1 ??  Or  Will they add $6.60 to the tag after August 1 ??

left over tags lol just like ORegon is. Just kind of funny is all not really gripping
"When my bow falls, so shall the world. When me heart ceases to pump blood to my body, it will all come crashing down. As a hunter, we are bound by duty, nay, bound by our very soul to this world. When a hunter dies we feel it, we sense it, and the world trembles with sorrow. When I die, so shall the world, from the shock of loosing such a great part of ones soul." Ezekiel, Okeanos Hunter

Like I said, they should just be over the counter. Raise the price 6.50 and they will make the exact same amount of money off them. Maybe more I. True long run if there an unlimited tag
