6.5 stw build
« on: March 08, 2015, 03:17:24 PM »
Im sure some of you seen my other thread. i have all the parts i need and I'm just waiting for the reamer to show up. Now Ive started the search for load data. I've read to start with .264 win mag loads and then 12% reduction of 7mm stw loads. I'm looking for more definite load data where would you guys start? thanks Caleb

The Hodgdon site has pretty good load data for many rounds but I don't see 6.5 STW

http://www.hodgdonreloading.com/data/rifle

Maybe something close?  Start low and work up...

I have books and can look at many of the online load data (hodgens, nosler, hornady) just to name a few but I'm looking for a more definite starting place than previously stated.

Check out reloaders nest.

Tell us about your build. 6.5 stw has always peaked my interest , might have to scratch that itch

Muzzle to butt

muzzle brake- Muscle break
barrel- 26" bartlien
action- post 64 model 70 started life as 270 weatherby
trigger- jewell
stock- HS precision

haven't decided which scope I'm going to put on it permanently for now i have a viper hs 4-16x50 that will do the trick for a while I'm leaning towards night force's new shv

Im still waiting of the reamer to show up so my smith can put all the pieces together.
