Phelps' "THE BOSS" now available
« on: March 09, 2015, 11:56:48 AM »
"THE BOSS" diaphragm is now available on the website!!!  In my opinion this is the best all-purpose elk diaphragm I've designed (on par with the Dragon Slayer)
I also have the Green Mtn. Camo and Green Hornet E-Z-Estrus back in stock.
The tubes we just received are the "good ones"  they have a thicker casting and have a great sound!!!

Thanks Hunting-Washington for all the continued support.

So are you going to be shooting the boss while calling with the boss this year?  I see a new nickname coming about.

How sis the stretch on the latex?   Is it wound pretty tight like the raging bull?or is it more like the white one you sold me at the show?

It is a fairly tight stretch quite a bit different than the white one you bought (I've been working on that design and have it dialed now but need to finish stress testing it).

The boss has worked for everyone that has tried it.

"The boss has worked for everyone that has tried it."

Now that's a bold statement. You mean  to guarantee I could make an elk noise with it?!
Just messing with you I'm sure it is as advertised!!!

For some reason I have a harder time cow calling with tight stretched calls like the raging bull.  Not sure why.  Seems like the tighter stretch calls take a fees bugles to break them in a little bit.  I'll order up some and give them a try. I have gone through about everything Rocky Mountain elk calls has to offer and like the ones I have got from you.  You'll see me on your order lost soon

The Boss and Dragon Slayer are both good calls for all around calling. A signature cow or elk commander would be a good starter call to get good solid cow calls for a beginner and learn how to create the elk tones.

If I was going to buy 2 they would be the BOSS and Elk Commander.

Alright Jason, you talked me in to it

In fact, I went to your site to buy 2, and ended up buying 4 total calls.   :chuckle:

Can't wait to try them out!

I really like the boss. It seems easier to get good tones than the others I have so far and I just started using diaphrams. Anyone starting out I recommend getting the boss also.
