True that yotes won't respond during mating season?
« on: January 04, 2009, 01:04:21 PM »
I was reading that yotes won't respond during mating season, is this true?  Is there another call you use during the mating season?  The book said they are so geeked up about tapping some tail that they don't eat much during this time.  Just wondering

Not true at all, in fact your chances go way up of calling in multiple dogs at a time.  Lots of threes during the breeding season.

Howling can be very effective.  Challenge howls, female invitation howls, and locator howls mainly.  Last year I started a set with some long locator howls.  Didn't take 5 minutes for a yote to come charging in to kick the intruder's butt.
