Kifaru Grab It
« on: February 25, 2015, 11:39:42 AM »
Was wondering if any of you Kifaru users use the grab it and how well they work carrying elk quarters, etc. or just better throwing meat in the bag.

I prefer the Grabit II. It is more adjustable than the original. They really help position a heavy load so that it rides better.

Meat in the bag can stink bad a few days later.  Air the meat first if it's going in the bag that way it's not as moist and doesn't bleed in the bag as much.  No experience w the grab it.  But I have smelt a pack three days after bloody meat was in it.   :puke:

The grab it 2 is really handy for carrying a bow also.  It is surprising how big it really is.  If you wanted to use it for elk quarters, you can attach it directly to the duplex frame and remove the bag.  Or just compress the bag way down and run loads.  I am a bones out meat in the bag guy though.   Like said before, let it air out fiest and get dryed as much as possible.   Than pack it up and carry it down.  Unless of course you are a mile from the truck.

Bought it, sold it. Collected dust in my garage. I pack a contractors garbage bag, and leave a few at the truck. Keeps your pack from getting soaked with blood.

Thanks guys. I do the same thing you do Silk, works well. Was just wondering if the grabit was any better but sounds like it may not be worth it.

I know some guys really like it, just never really worked for me

It's only like 36$,  order it. If you don't like it you can have it sold in a week for basically what you paid for it.

I've set mine up to be used as a meat shelf between the pack and frame
