5 dogs in 10 minutes
« on: December 30, 2008, 10:03:05 AM »
Just had to let tell people if they are wanting to get out and get a dog or two today is a great day in Eastern WA. Just went from Four lakes to Cheney and saw 5 dogs in that short little strip of HWY. Three of them where together on the backside of EWU campus. No camera, and two kids sleeping in the back seat, wasn't about to fire the 308 and wake them up  :chuckle: The joy of being a parent. It has been good for many animals in the woods. When the girls are sleeping its like a get out of jail card for animals.

PS this was at 9am, they are out after the storms we have had.
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

Depending on how old they are you never know what they might sleep through. If they are older I think I would just have to prep them..."Daddy might wake you up making a loud bang outside the truck every now and then, so don't be scared if daddy is acting like a crazy man running out into a field with a gun when you wake up." :chuckle:

Yep, the dogs are moving cause they are real hungry.

This morning my hunting partner and I went out for about 20 minutes, only one stand and had a triple come in, we killed all 3 coyotes.  The larger lead dog stopped and put his nose in the air, I knew he was trying to scent us so I killed him right at 130 yards. My buddy killed the other two, the second dog at 200 yards and then his second shot put down the third dog at 160 yards. I stopped them with some KiYi's using a diaphram caller as they were trying to leave. I used my 6.8 with 90gr. TNT'S and my partner killed the other two with his 22-250 and 55 Noslers. Not a bad way to start off the new year  :IBCOOL:

I forgot my camera when we went out yesterday so here is a photo of the three we killed yesterday, we had to go back and dig them out of the snow.  We saw 11 more this morning and we are heading back this afternoon to do some calling, hope they are still around.
