Using a .35 for Yotes

I'm wondering because the rest of my firearms are in Michigan with my dad because I'm in the Army and I was in Hawaii for a spell.  I have a 300wsm that would be great for the long ranges, but right now I only have the .35 and my grandpa's old Ted Williams/Sears 12ga. Let me know what you think.  Thanks

The .35 is a Marlin lever action, my dad baught from a pastor of a church for $100.00 about 17 years ago.  It shoots true and I couldn't have asked for a better first rifle passed on from my dad.

Use your shotgun with some Yote shot!

You may wish additional input regarding the use of those Yote rounds in an older shotgun. I am no expert ......

22mag works well.I havent seen the .35 but it should be fine I would think

is it a .35 remington? If so you can drop them out to 200 yards after that  .

I agree with 270Hunter, that the 35 Remington would be fine for coyotes out to 200 yards. But, as with any weapon, you should take it out to the range and be sure you know where the bullets are striking at a couple of useful distances. It will build your confidence when the coyote shot presents itself.

I agree with the poll, too.  100% of respondants are encouraging you to just get out and hunt!

take both. . .use the shottie for the close in stuff. . .I didn't end up buying the Dead Coyote shot from Hevi Shot because they want $30 for 10 rounds. . .I just use #4 buck at $5 for 5 rounds. . .I can get 3 times as many shells for the same price and you should be just fine with some #4 in an older shotgun. . .

. . .oh just saw that you are in the Tri-Cities. . .may not be many shots close enough for a shotgun. . .wish I was out there. . .coyotes are WAY easier to come by in Eastern Washington than they are in the thick stuff out here on the Western Side.
