I guess I should clarify. I meant no bigger than 18" wheels but would probably go with 17" as that is what I had on my last truck and I liked them. I have had good experience with Toyo and also Mickey Thompson. I don't want anything too aggressive but want something that is a good all terrain set up.

If you go below that wheel diameter you may have clearance issues over the brakes. If 18's were stock you may not be able to go to a 17.I have Cooper AT3's on my truck and very pleased with them.
I'd go with 17's if I were you, cheaper wheels and tires and I personally think they look better than 18's abd up. 285 70 17s are about 33 inches and look good on a stock f150. And I'm pretty sure you can fit a 33 in the spot for your spare. What type of tire are you wanting?
