State Land
« on: April 23, 2015, 11:38:48 PM »
Hi I just moved to Ocean Shores last September and I seen a sign that said State Land on the right side of the highway heading towards Aberdeen on Hwy 109... How do I know the boundry and how big of an area the state land is along the hwy. ??

Maybe some of you Elk Hunters know an answer to this??

If it is where I am thinking that is a Natural Preserve. Used to belong to WDFW. You're not supposed to even enter it without a special permit. No hunting or fishing.
I think there is a sign telling about it on the Burrows Rd.

I know what your talking about... But I want to say it's before Burrows RD there is a sign on one of the trees that says State Land...???

Unless they just forgot to take down that sign.

Is there a website you can go to, to look up state land (s) ?

I believe it is all the same piece of property.
Go to this site to look at the ownerships. http://www.ghc-gis.org/general/viewer.htm

Here it is at 1215 acres it looks like all the DNR land in that parcel is Natural Preserve.  http://www.dnr.wa.gov/AboutDNR/ManagedLands/Pages/amp_na_north_bay.aspx
