Turkey hunting out of Ellensburg

So I love turkey hunting, getting one or not its a great way to pass the time, I've hunted the teanaway for them for a few years but now I'm going to school in Ellensburg. I was wondering if there are any other generally areas around there that holds birds, like manashtash Reacer or farm lands in Ellensburg. I will have a lot of time to scout this year being here I was just wondering if there are any other areas to check out or just keep doing the same old thing?

my experience fwiw there are a few flocks on public land but most the valley turkeys hang on private ground and mock turkey hunters as they drive by.  Teanaway seems to have a few more on public access land.  If you spend some time driving and finding the herds you might be able to figure out a potential scenario of calling them but I don't like turkeys so have never tried this.  My son he was into it that's why I know a tiny bit.  I know where turkeys are in the valley I just sort of don't much care. if I could pop them with my pistol my level of caring would go wayyyyy up.

I also go to school at central and I was up schnebly canyon rd north of ellensburg and saw about a dozen turkey in november when I was out scouting for late season elk. I might drive up there sometime when I have nothing going on during the weekends to see if I get lucky. For the most part NE of the state holds most of the turkeys

I will just say this now I have been tracking that mob of stupid birds for 3 years they go awol every spring I know where they roost I know where they feed and I know that come spring when turkey season starts they vanish, I think they have a cave.

You done it now.  I mean everybody and their brother knows the best hunting for all game animals in this state is right around the burg. They just try not to mention it on the open forum.

April 14th there is a mass burrowing by every turkey in this state and they stay underground until June 1st. That being said...i will be out there looking for them just like every other spring

We have done pretty good around Eburg, haven taken 3 toms outta there. Just remember the Yellow gates don't open until May 1 around there

I got probably within 50 yards of a tom this morning. His gobble sounded like he was right next to me but I couldn't spot him and he moved away from me. Tried to follow but lost him.

Only one I saw but saw over 20 elk and 20 deer so that's always exciting.

Actually yes! Me and a buddy spent a lot of time scouting and we both got our birds on the second day of the season. Got it right after a chemistry test haha, turned out to be a good day. Good luck!
