whats a good traditional muzzie to buy

i was looking for a TC hawken in 50 cal. no such luck. i dont think they make them any more. any one use the lyman trade rifle. looked online no luck. i heard the TC hawken is the best if you can find one.

far from the best. Bores are way to tight for my liking and the shallow .004" sucks with round balls.

I have two TC RENAGADES 54 cal one with peep sight I love them and wouldnt hesitate to shot at deer or Elk out to 125 yards thats my range limit Ii have them for sale if your interested?

I have a .50 cal T/C Hawken, 2 each Blackdiamonds & a .54 Renagade. I have hunted with all of them & have no preference. You can find side locks cheap at local pawn shops. Everyone thinks you need a in-line now days so, you can find good used side locks for under $200.

The TC Hawkens were great muzzleloaders, and it is unfortunate that TC went away from them. As far as the Lyman's are concerned, they are excellent sidelocks. We have the Trade Rifle in stock, in case you're still looking, and they can ship the same day. Good luck with your search!

I have a Lyman Great plains , made by investarms.  Bought some fouling scrapers & brushes to keep breech area clean.......crud likes to collect there & if not addressed will hamper ignition, I think there's a recess at bottom of breech plug . Accurate , shoots well as long as it's clean!
