truck value? 1992 F250
« on: May 23, 2015, 09:03:02 AM »
Extend cab, wheel and tires slightly oversize. Stock 460 automatic tow package, everything works 96,000 miles, no dents. What do you think its worth?   $3,500.00??? it is a 4X4
Thanks
Carl

running driving working 4x4 1000 bucks, no dents 1500, good paint 2000, only 96,000 original miles 3000, tow package is like 100 bucks tops. but if everything inside works(heater, dash lights ect) could definately go 3500

then yea id bet someone would pay 3-4 grand for it, will definately take the right person. What size of population is in your area? that will effect the value more than anything

nevemerind i just saw your location, shouldnt be a probelm getting that kind of money out of it on the coast. the only problem is the guy that wants a 3/4 ton pickup that gets 10mpg usually doesnt care about all the poaint and power window door lock ac type stuff and the person who like the paint,ac, and power stuff doesnt want a 10mpg pickup

That's a good solid truck that should have good life left in it. I have an 89 with the 460 with 100,000 more miles.  If I were you I wouldn't let it go too cheap. If I were looking for a truck that's what I'd expect to pay. Tires good? If so that's worth a fair amount of value

I think it's a fair price to ask, if you're flexible. The only down side is the 460, a 351 is much more popular. I purchased a 95 F150 xlt loaded in excellent condition 4 years ago and paid the same price. Good luck.

downsides are totally depending on buyer, i love my 460! i dont know what tranny you have if it is the c6 or the one with OD but the automatic tranny might be the bigest downside. i wouldnt sweat any ''downside'' of the truck because someone(like me) is different and wants the combo that you have. awhile back i saw a 86 f350 with the 6.9 and 4spd on craiglist in covington i think that the guy wanted 4000 but it was on there for a long time and still might be. it is old but in great shape so if 3500 makes you happy then try to get it  :dunno:

I just sold a '96 F250 with a 460 and a five speed with 189K miles for $5k. Same options as you have listed and it had a few dings and the paint was beginning to fade. I think $3500 is a fair price. You may be able to get more for it. It really depends on where you live too. If I was in Seattle, I could have never gotten that much for my truck. But in the Eugene area, there isn't much available.
I hunt therefore I am.
