Video of Lehigh .458 XP and CF
« on: June 08, 2015, 10:36:02 AM »
For those that might be interested...

I have been shooting Lehigh/Knight Bloodline CF bullets for many years now and recently Lehigh has introduced a new line of bullets called the Xtreme Penetrator (XP).  You may have seen some of my posts about both of these bullets.

I have been struggling trying to get good pictures showing the powder of these two bullet... well now I do not have to do it anymore.  A friend of mine found a Utube video done by people with the money to produce it correctly.

Some of this video might interest you - it is kinda long but has some good point.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVkWPerR6kE&feature=player_embedded

This video is testing the .458 bullet from an AR type weapon shooting the bullets at 1840 fps.  I shoot basically the same bullets from my ML right at basically the same velocity.  With a scoped ML for rifle season I do increase the powder load to 120 grains of T7 and get the bullet going at 1900 fps.

OK  that is some great video

I would like to see the same test from 80 yards, where the velocity has dropped significantly.

CF makes some extreme sense, I need to shoot them to see how they perform in my weapon.

The .54 comes in a 325 with a purple colored sabot.....Any recommendations?

I have shot them at 80 yards into a media and they are really impressive but I do not have the $$$ to produce this type of demonstration..

Hang on a few days I may have a very interesting development...

Thanks. Very impressive. I might have to try them out in my .450 Bushmaster.
