Flu flu vs fletching
« on: June 10, 2015, 07:08:17 PM »
So I've been trying to learn the zen of the recurve, I started off with flu flu's and just recently switched to fletched arrows. With flu flus I can within reason hit what I want. But with regular arrows i am able to keep about 60% of my shots in the vitals(obviously not acceptable). Any ideas? Can I hunt deer with flu flus?
nuke the gray whales for jesus!

No you should not hunt deer with flu flus. Stick with the regular arrows and keep practicing. You'll get there.

The reason you seem to be having more accuracy with flu flus is because the excessive drag on the back of the arrow is over correcting flaws in your form. Either that or there is some major mismatch in the tune of bow and arrows.

If you have perfect form and perfectly tuned equipment a bare shaft arrow with no fletching at all should impact within an inch of fletched arrows at 20 -30 yards. Can you tell me the type of bow, draw weight, your draw length, type of arrow and arrow length?
