We are donating a 6x day hunt for Waterbuck, Bushpig, and Impala to the Northwest Chapter of Safari Club International to be auctioned off at their annual chapter fundraising banquet on 28 February 2015 at the Seattle Airport Hilton Conference Center. I will also be exhibiting at the banquet, so feel free to stop by and talk to me about any questions you may have regarding hunting with us.

This hunt will take place in the northern portion of South Africa’s Limpopo Province (near the border with Botswana) and may be used any time in 2015 or 2016. As you can see in the photos below, our Waterbuck, Bushpig, and Impala are second to none and we routinely take animals of each species that meet the standards for SCI gold medal each year.

Both the Waterbuck and Impala will be hunted via walk and stalk. However, Bushpig are very elusive and often hard to find animals. As a result, the Bushpig will be hunted either over bait or in an extremely exciting and adrenaline-pumping hunt using hounds. We will decide exactly which method to use depending on conditions on the ground at the time of the hunt. Either way, this is a fantastic opportunity to take a Bushpig  trophy that is normally very difficult to come by. All costs associated with baiting the Bushpig and/or using hounds are included in the package.

There is no "catch" to this deal: you are not required to upgrade the hunt and this package includes all costs directly associated with the hunt. Basically, you are responsible for transporting yourself, your gear, and your trophies to and from Africa. We will pick you up and drop you off at the airport and take care of everything in between. This hunt also includes the daily rates for 1x non-hunter who may accompany the hunter on this trip. Though not required, if desired, you are welcome to upgrade the hunt with additional animals or hunting days at our normal prices. In addition to the animals offered in this auction, we also have fantastic hunting for Kudu, Eland, Zebra, Blue Wildebeest, Bushbuck, Warthog, Giraffe, Gemsbok, Klipspringer, Duiker, Steenbok, and Baboon on this same hunting area. We can also arrange side trips to Kruger National Park (price on request).

This hunt is valued at $6500. With a minimum bid starting at just $1,000, this is an incredible opportunity to purchase this outstanding hunt for a significant discount!

Though you are welcome to bid on the hunt in person, you may also bid on this fantastic hunting package online if you are unable to make it to the banquet.

I have hunted in Zimbabwe on the Limpopo river not far from here.  This area is a hunters dream!

Certainly a dream for me. I'm reading some Capstick lately. Not a great writer but some great adventures for sure. Good luck on your fund raising. Great organization.

Only 2-3 drinks per day, I'm out.... :chuckle: I wonder how much it cost to get your trophys out and back home to your own taxidermy?  This sounds like a heck of an offer, if I could afford it I'd have to throw in a kudu for sure!

I have been to this area several times in the past 10 years. It is best to have taxidermy done there, they know what those animals are supposed to look like and they do them on a regular basis. And I think you will save some money.
They take the horns off when they ship, to make a smaller box. It will cost you about $2000 to do shoulder mounts there, and another $1500 to get them home. It takes about 11 months or so to get them back, so you have time to save some money!
Go to the Kruger! It's an awesome place, and many local folk sell stuff on the side of the road at very good prices. And they will negotiate.
Get some money exchanged before you go. It costs about 10% either here or there, but you'll have some cash when you get there and won't have to make a side trip to the bank.

trophyhunt: Don't worry, the 2-3 drink max is not strictly enforced  ;) We have some outstanding kudu hunting at this same hunting camp. We can certainly accommodate you if you would like to add a kudu to the hunt. However, I recommend adding 1-2 additional hunting days to make sure we can get all of the animals in the package, plus a good kudu for you.

The kudu in the photo below was taken 2 years ago at that hunting camp. He is one of our biggest ever and he measured just under 61". As you can see, he was not long for this world anyway. He was really, really old and was shot at the end of the dry season, which is why he was so skinny.

Zuus is right: the taxidermy is cheaper over in Africa, and they are experts at working with African game. For instance, with the taxidermist we normally work with in South Africa (who does incredible work), a Kudu shoulder mount goes for $700. Depending on where you go in the USA, that can cost $1,000-1,200. I'm getting a full body mount of a steenbok done with them as we speak, which is costing me less money than a shoulder mount for the same animal would at my taxidermist in the USA.

It is a little bit more expensive to ship finished trophies back to the USA, but it is still a little cheaper overall to do it over there, even taking the increased shipping into account. Depending on what work you get done and how many trophies you are shipping, budget $1,000-2,000 to ship the trophies home. With our recommended taxidermist, it normally takes 9-12 months for you to receive your finished trophies.

How much would it cost to add one hunter for the same package? My brother and I will be at the banquet, but just trying to plan before we go :)

The package includes the daily rates for a hunter and a non-hunter, so if you want to take an additional hunter instead of a non-hunter, we would charge you $150 a day to upgrade the non-hunter to a hunter. We would also charge the additional hunter the full trophy fees for whatever he or she ended up shooting: $1,800 for Waterbuck, $400 for Bushpig, $350 for Impala, etc. Our full price list is below.

http://biggamehuntingadventures.com/south-africa-hunting-price-list/

Full disclosure: Getting an additional Waterbuck and Impala is not going to be a problem at all. However, getting 2x Bushpig in 6 days is going to be very difficult. If you are interested in doing that, PM me and we can discuss it in more detail. That being said, this is still a great opportunity to get a really nice hunt at a significant discount, especially if the second hunter is primarily interested in pursuing some of the other animals that we have there, like Kudu, Zebra, Blue Wildebeest, etc.

Just a reminder: online bidding for this hunt ends at 5:30pm Pacific time tomorrow (Saturday, 28 February). For those of you attending the banquet, I will have a booth set up there and will be available to answer all your questions.

As of this morning, the online auction is not showing any active bids for this hunt. The minimum bid is just $1,000, which is a fantastic opportunity to get a really nice African hunt for a significant discount. Don't let this opportunity pass you by!

We're off to a great start to the 2015 hunting season and we've had some hunters take some outstanding waterbuck so far, including a potential new provincial record. Take a look at the link below to see a few photos.
