head over now and start driving around and figure out where you want to hunt, then start knocking on doors. its almost all private with few scattered public pieces. chances of finding bucks on the public is low but it can be done time to time

Our group shot 4 decent bucks in 5 days.  If you arent afraid to hike the snake river breaks are a great area. You can PM me and I can point you to a few spots.

It is a fun hunt.   I drew in '13 and '14.   Took these two bucks.   Somehow, I managed another tag this year.
nothing wrong with those 2 bucks

I drew the tag also. Can't wait to figure a new area out, and with any luck maybe I'll tag my first white tail.

Very fun tag two years ago.  I saw lots of nice bucks and the rut seemed to be going the whole time.  I finally got close enough with the 7-30 Waters T/C Contender carbine the 2nd to last day.  This is a poor picture as the wind was blowing the grass and I couldn't tell with the self-timer.  I drew it again this year, but with an Any Moose, muzzy cow and quality deer tag, I may not get to use this one!  You should have a great hunt.

I drew it in 2012 and passed on quite a few small bucks that didn't excite me and ended up shooting a buck during late muzzleloader instead (had multiseason) I would skip the 1st weekend and hunt the 2nd weekend. The whitetails seem to rut later in november. With that said, good luck to you, I'll be there as well.

Good job swift!

Applied with my son and we also drew the same tag!  Massive unit!   Best of luck to you my friend!.  I moved away from Spokane 23 yrs ago so its been a while since I've set foot in all that country.     Haven't hunted whitetail in 23 yrs.  My son has never hunted them.  I'm just happy to be able to go on a good hunt with my son see lots of deer and a chance for him to kill the biggest buck of his life.  He did harvest a 125" blacktail a couple years ago..  We are very excited!!!   :IBCOOL:

hunted this tag a few times... Lots of deer... Lots of posted land as well... Majority of deer taken seem to be about 2 1/2 yrs old... Bigger deer in the northern units from my experience.... Second weekend definitely seems to show more activity... Nice bucks jjhunter!
