Early season antelope decoys
« on: July 17, 2015, 11:09:28 AM »
We will be chasing early season (sept 1) antelope, my daughter has two doe tags.  I know from my previous experience how easily they spot you and bolt.  Would a doe or buck decoy help that early in the season?  I have heard that they work much better on bucks and during the rut, but would a decoy possibly buy us some time for a shot or would it likely spook them?

I've only hunted them once and aren't too familiar with their behavior other then not wanting people closer than 500 yards.

Bump in case anyone knows.  If not, I'll find out the hard way in a month.

I would definitely have a decoy with me. I've taken antelope with and without. It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Are MT Decoys the best?  Look easy to use and realistic.
