Pulled a hat trick
« on: June 28, 2015, 01:35:36 PM »
Went out hunting last night in the deserts of Nevada in hopes of dropping some song dogs.  Well the wind storm we had last night seemed to keep them from coming in.  Hit the first rabbit with a 40 cal, the second rabbit with my AR 15 using custom loads of Speer 52 grain hollow points, and the last one with a Winchester model 870 12 gauge.   Its really hot here and takes a lot of out of this Washington boy, but it hasn't stopped me from trying :chuckle:

Just one snake, its been so hot out there that I don't think they are coming out until night.  Saw some of those burrowing owls last night and a herd of antelope

While out and about one of the many nights, we came across a whole bunch of burrowing owls.  They ran a few feet and then laid flat on the ground to try and hide.  Got a few good pictures of them and left.  I am sure that was a once in a life time event.  The last picture is of a doe pronghorn and her fawn.

:chuckle: It was nothing I couldn't handle.  Still a very neat find, and after going to Nevada every year since 2006 it was my first time finding those guys.  Hopefully my next trip I can finally find those stone sheep.  Spent countless hours up in the mountains trying to find them.
