Lake Kapowsin is pretty decent for bass. If you wish to travel, Silver Lake about 1 1/2 hours south is one of the best west side bass lakes. This said, have you been to the NW Adventure Center on N Fort? You can rent boats there, cheap which would give you more opportunities to grab some largemouth lower lips. Mudman, there really isn't much in Fiander or Cat anymore; used to be a few bass/crappie in Fiander but not sure what's there now. Lewis Lake and American Lake on post are decent (American for kokanee and planter trout mainly with a some bass) and Lewis Lake, out by the impact areas used to be very good for bass... haven't been there in years tho. The Nisqually gets the kings and pinks in the late summer/fall and you can fish for them by just driving 10 minutes south of the Dupont gate. Later in the fall, drive out through the impact area, past Lewis Lake, to the tank bridge and hang a right... it dead ends at a creek where you can catch kings/pinks starting in late August, and, come November, you can have a ball with big old stinky Chum salmon! Send me a PM if you have any specific questions, I'm retired Army and still work on post. RJ
