Night calling from off the road or hike
« on: July 04, 2015, 03:00:55 PM »
I went out the other night and had a great time!  All of my stands were from off the side of dirt road probably 30' in the middle of nowhere since i dont have a battery powered light just a plug in spotlight for road hunting.  Question im thinking of getting a wicked light or some brand maybe the coyote light to put on top of gun.  So back to the action first Stan howled and got some responses!  Played around with the howler than switching to rabbit distress and bingo i had lights coming my way!  This thing wad going back and forth jumping up and down finally came in and it was a deer! What the crap  man good thing my friend didn't  shoot. Driving round the country only spotted two coyotes.  Man they dont stick around! Second stand same thing howled got a ton of yelps back they got close but would not come in! The best was the last stand. Howled and bingo i had two coyotes telling me to get out! Same thing howled they responded hit up the rabbit they got quite....than bam there back again yelling and barking.  I did this for a good 35min and could not get them to come in! They wet so close but i couldn't spot there eyes.  Very frustrating! Do you think they knew somethin was wrong because the sound is pretty much on the dirt road? Do you think id have more success hiking a hill and calling?
