IFPL stands for Industrial Fire Planning Level.  This only affects work on the forest.  Does not affect recreation.  There are fire bans on forests though in dispersed  camp sites.

It appears that Weyerhaeuser is using the IFPL for the closure of their lands.
Well I guess their land they can do what they want.  But on nf and dnr land that is industrial work not recreation.

I think that since the permits generate money it might fall under this. I imagine Weyerhaeuser would be on the hook if a permitee started a fire and DNR had to fight it.

Apparently the DNR lowered the fire danger levels today. There is nowhere in the state that is higher then level three and much of it is either level 2 or even 1.

Just got this email from Weyerhauser.

Good Evening North Cascades/Chelan recreational access permittees.
The Department of Natural Resources has reduced the Industrial Fire Precaution level so we can now allow access into the permit areas again.  We have one exception; our Granite Wheeler block will remain closed due to active harvest operations.  Thank you for your patience and we look forward to seeing you out in the permit areas.

Sincerely,
