Phool…  I don’t know that they are just out of focus… its that they are just dead… light is dead…everything seems to have gone to chit??? Is that a correct assessment Doug??

I don't believe it is a focus issue.  I have looked at the images and it does not appear to be back or front focusing.  Even if it was, the 40D can't micro-adjust focus as that is a feature that is only on the new 50D.  Adjusting the diopter won't accomplish that.  My guess is it just got out of whack.  Service will go through it and put it back in spec.

They look like they are all shot at 3000 ISO.   They are just all grainy with no sharp focal point.  Lots of noise.  Think they are bad on here, when I pull up the pic and look at actual pixals its enough to make you sick.  I see better after a fifth of 151.  I've been dinking but other than banging it on the floor a couple times (can't quite bring myself into doing it) not sure what else to do.

It was a deal on just the Camera body ... I bought it from a pro that used it very little as a back up because he had a 40D and a 5D. The camera had about 2k actuation's on it and looks brand new.

No, but Canon can as they have special software.  People have created software to do this for the Rebels and I think some of the 1 series cameras...  Some of the xxD series can be figured out but not the 40D.
