Favorite way to do a bear rug/mount?
« on: July 21, 2015, 05:26:44 AM »
What's your personal favorite way to display a bear? Do you preffer shoulder mount, head mount, a rug, or just a good old European skull? Personally I preffer a nice rug! WHAT'S YOUR CHOICE?

I don't have one yet but when I do I want a wall mounted rug. Really has a way of making a wall look good and it takes up space so womanly stuff can't do on the same wall. Possession is 90% of the law including wall space.

I have a rug as well as a soft tanned hide hanging on a hook. All the skulls are cleaned also and sitting on my gun safe. Prolly won't do anything more unless it's another color phase. Then most likely just a soft tan.

I've never been a fan of rugs.  Soft tan for me.
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

I did a shoulder mount but chose to have the ears back and teeth showing... Wish I would have done it closed mouth ears up.  Mount looks good but would look more "classy" the other way imo.  I will go rug or soft tan next time

Nice! I like the closed mouth, looks more realistic. That white stripe is beautiful. Great looking mount! How much does run? I know a bear rug is around $140 a foot.

I've got three rugs - open mouth, two shoulder mounts - both closed mouth, a couple of tanned hides and a couple of finished skulls - wife says I can't afford to shoot any more bears
I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies

In November U.S. manufacturing contracted for the the ninth consecutive month. Layoffs across the economy are higher than anytime since the pandemic in 2020 and I just read that the Midwest farmers will be receiving a 12B bailout due to 50 year trade relationships being destroyed. I have to admit that I was a sceptic and didn't believe in the effectiveness in tariffs but I'm a believer now.

I have a black rug, blonde rug both mouths open, and a shoulder mount walking out on a rock with moss and grass on it closed mouth. With all 3 skulls also.
