Which E-caller?
« on: January 10, 2009, 11:37:39 AM »
I have been looking at all the different e-calls and I like the looks of the Western Rivers Day Stalker. For the money it seems to have a lot of features. Have any of you guys tried these or heard pos/neg about them? Thanks for the help.

Justin

I have the Johnny Stewart PM-4. It is a great caller. Haven't got to use it much, but was pretty good deal for the money and my first caller. If you buy it at Allpredatorcalls.com they throw in two extra sound cards and even sent me a small keychain mouth call for those times when you do not have a call.

I am with Rick on this. Stay away from the Western Rivers calls. They offer free sounds and that is cool, but the units don't seem to like the abuse predator hunting can put on them. There are always a bunch of them in the Cabela's bargin cave. I wonder why? :chuckle:

But do shop/purchase from Allpredatorcalls. They offer a large selection and great service. I have never had a problem with them. At one time they even gave free subscriptions to Predator Extreme magazine.

Has anyone tried the new Western Rivers Nite Stalker ? I agree with all the comments on the other models. But the more I read about the Nite Stalker the more I like.

Some of the Foxpro and Minaska callers use mp3 and wav files.
You can try the El Cheapo homemade with the Cass Creek speaker and an MP3 player.

Thanks for the thoughts guys. Sounds like that call is out, it did have a lot of features for the money oh well. Do the foxpros have usb ports? I definitely want one I can load sounds on from the comp. I may bould my own since that sounds like it would be fun and it would be sweet to use one that I made myself. Would I be able to make it wireless? Thanks again!

As I posted before. If you are going to make your own mp3 based caller, go with the speaker from Cass Creek. It is already powered and you don't have to fiddle with an amp that may not work the way you hoped.

You can make it remote with a Nady wireless setup but then it gets spendy.

I would save and get a foxpro or similar, they are worth the money and foxpro staff are great to deal with.

I agree. Either a Foxpro or Minaska. Next would probably be the PM4.
