Big Game Hunting Adventures 2015 South Africa Season
« on: June 10, 2015, 04:52:45 PM »
We're off to a very successful start to our 2015 hunting season in South Africa, especially on our waterbuck and Cape Buffalo hunts.

In particular, we've had an outstanding year for waterbuck so far, taking some true beauties. A hunter last month took gigantic waterbuck in the photo below. His horns measured over 32" long (green) and he is potentially the biggest waterbuck ever taken in South Africa's Gauteng Province.

Taken in March, this massive, hard bossed buffalo was our first Cape Buffalo of the 2015 hunting season and had a 39" spread.

Even though it looks small compared to the massive waterbuck bull in the photo at the top of the page, this 28" bull taken in April was still quite a trophy that any hunter should be thrilled to take.

Waterbuck are very territorial animals, so it is not uncommon to find bulls with broken horns resulting from battles with other waterbuck. This old bull taken in April is a very unique trophy to be sure.

As you can see by his heavily worn horns and boas, this old dagga boy had certainly lived a very interesting life. He was taken in April.

I'll continue to post photos as the season continues. Now that June has arrived, we're just now getting into the prime part of the hunting season.

This beautiful and unique nyala had a deformed right horn, which likely broke off in a fight with another nyala. You'll never find another nyala quite like this one.

The blesbok below is a great trophy, with his longest horn over 16" long, he qualified for an SCI silver medal.

With both horns measuring over 21", here's an excellent impala that any hunter visiting Africa should be happy to take.

All three of these animals were taken by the same hunter who took the incredible waterbuck at the top of the page. As you can see, he had quite a hunt.

We've taken some outstanding eland and black wildebeest as well this year. A black wildebeest is included in our late season special that we're offering at the link below. This is a fantastic opportunity to take some great trophies at a very reasonable price.

The hunter with the first Cape Buffalo used a .375 H&H and the hunter with the second buffalo used a .416 Rigby. The majority of our buffalo hunters use a .375 H&H.

Wow, those are some heavy hitters.  What's the average shot distance your hunters take on those big bulls?

Buffalo hunts are normally at pretty close range, usually less than 75 yards. Especially when hunting during the rainy season when the brush is very thick, these hunts can be at extreme close quarters. We had one hunter shoot a buffalo at 10 yards this April!

September and October are typically our best months for kudu hunting and this year is no exception. We've already got this nice one in the salt and have high hopes for the remainder of the dry season.

We just had another hunter finish up a fantastic hunt with us in South Africa's Limpopo Province. The weather is very hot right now, but the hunting is fantastic and a 41" buffalo and a 56" kudu were the crown jewels of his hunt. He also took very nice zebra, impala, gemsbok, duiker, and steenbok.
