Leupold 8x30 Yosemite Binoculars
« on: September 21, 2007, 07:54:24 PM »
I picked up some of these Leupold Yosemite 8x30 Binoculars before this seasons unsuccessful high buck hunt.

I chose this model based upon the following:

1) comfort in the hands
2) them being semi-compact in size
3) low priced
4) somewhat easy on the eyes
5) decent glass
6) waterproof
7) limited lifetime warranty

Some binos that I have used are either too bulky to take on some trips, too small and compact and thus strain my eyes when looking through them. For $119 I thought it was well worth the money spent so far. Only a few more seasons will test the reliability however Leupold has been a good name brand for me and others that I know so far. I chose the 8 power because I like to get a broad look at things so that I don't develop tunnel vision. The neck strap was perfectly comfortable for several days of use. I like it when the small accessories work well and you get something that just works out of the box without having to go to jimmy rig things. The focus knob on the top of the binos is large enough to easily manipulate with gloves. Anyway that's all I have to say right now...
