Late Archery Deer- GMU 460, 437, 407
« on: November 08, 2014, 06:36:09 PM »
Hi everyone!

New to the forums and newish to the area.  I moved out to WA from WI about a year and a half ago and I figured its time to get back out into the field this year.  Im in the Lake Stevens area so the 460, 437, 407 would be the units Id prefer to hunt due to proximity.  407 is probably out due to what looks to be lack of public land.  Was looking somewhere off 2 in upper 460.  And off 530 in lower 437.  Any pointers as far as NF roads that are open or areas to check out would be much appreciated.  Not against hiking a bit to get in as well.

Bit behind on scouting this year, but I figured Id just go sit and see what pops up and put more work in this coming year.

407 can be a little tough, a lot of low lands is private property, not a lot of hunter friendly land owners, private forrest company want $ to hunt but..... there are some areas of state land.

davk - I'm new to the area (Feb 2014) from Michigan (tree stands, corn fields, private land). This state daunting to me. I spent some time looking for muleys and spike horn elk outside Cle Elum, looking to stay on this side of the mountains this year. I know this is a year late form your post but if you're looking to do some still hunting/scouting the rest of this year let me know. I'm south of you and willing to drive.
