Need Help Buying The Right Trail Cam

Hey guys i'm in the market of buying a trail cam or 2, i don't know whats good and whats not. Does anyone have any advice on type or what to look for? I don't want to break the bank on these but want a decent trail cam. Any and all info is helpful thanks!

Yeah, come to the trail cam build next week and learn to make your own, better pics for a better price from the looks of them. Just check out the homebrew trail cam thread.

First, ask yourself what you want it for - scouting, killer photos of game, etc.  If its just a scouting tool, you can't go wrong with he Moultrie D40.  It does a great job, simple to use, takes good photos.  on sale it runs around $75.  Worth every penny, in my experience.

If you want great photos and you're in it for the long haul - see the Homebrew thread.  IT's a natural progression to build your own because once you get a taste for this new way of hunting game, you'll be a junkie in no time.  My wife just rolls her eyes...

I also have several of the Moultrie D40 trail cams and like them. A little slow on trigger time but you just need to learn how to set them up to make sure you get a good pic. battery life is awesome and pic quality is good. Heck for $75.00 to $100.00 you can really bitch to much. That Homebrew cam sounds like a good idea as well .......

Look at spending $200.00 a piece. Then you won't be kicking yourself down the road!!! Moultrie I4 or The Cuddeback Capture. I currently have 4 trail Cams and 4 different models. Good Luck
