Need some help on a Dan Wesson .357
« on: January 14, 2009, 08:07:05 PM »
I don't know jack about pistols except that I want one.  I have an opportunity to purchase a .357 Dan Wesson C16 model.  I know that the barrel has three different lengths and the one I'm looking at is the longest.  What's a good/fair price for this gun?  It's in great shape, has a case and an extra pair of grips.  Any help on what the value is would be appreciated.  Thanks!

I would pm Remmark and ask him.  He is a new member on here and knows ALOT about guns and is always at the shows.  He could probably answer your ? straight away.

Spend some time over here, www.danwessonforum.com Jodi has tried to compile as much information on the DanWesson from the web into one location, I own four but no small frame guns but I can help.
357 models
11
12
14
15
but no model 16
715 the 7 stands for stainless
barrel lengths made for the 357 range from 2 1/2 to 15 inches
Models
11 and 14 have fixed sights
12 and 15 have adjustable sights

VH shrouds have full under lugs

average blued 357 with 6 to 8" barrel $250.00 to $350.00 stainless another $100.00
10 12 and 15" barrels will run you higher the last 15"barrels that were sold
barrel and shroud went for over $600.00.

The factory case adds about $75-100 extra grip $25-30

I have articles and assembly instructions if you want them, they are also on the website I posted above.
New barrels and wrenches are available from the factory
https://shop.cz-usa.com/home.aspx?CategoryCode=27

If you are looking at the Stainless 357 at the Everett pawn shop pass on it it has a cracked frame.

Here is a picture of my nicest one, it is the only one made in 460 Supermag

Good luck
Dave

When I pass, do not let my wife sell the guns for what I told her they cost.
