Finally.....My First Cam Photos
« on: September 08, 2015, 02:03:50 PM »
Recently purchased some property.  Then purchased several cams, two of which are cellular.  Property is 6 hrs away so wanted instant fix. :chuckle:

After going over last weekend to put in a blind and other things, I set one camera but because I'm not technically savy, I got home to find out I needed a 5 digit number off the camera menu to activate the connection to wireless. :bash:  The second cellular I didn't have time to set, but no loss as I was able to figure everything out at home on it.

Fast forward a week.  Heading back to property...ugh...6 more hours on the road.  Good thing was the fellow that was going to put in ATV/UTV trails on the property was availble with a dozer.  That made it all worthwhile.  Property is absolutely beautiful but the entire 130 plus or minus acres goes up approximately 1100 foot in elevation from the tillable ground to the upper timbered draws.  Like being on a side hill all day.  Now roads are in and although going up, straight and down, they are level and 10 feet wide.  Can access the entire piece....well almost, as the guy still has the very upper portion to punch the trails in on.

As far as the pictures....last night after getting home got my first one from cellular camera #1....a doe during the night.  The remaining four pictures was the first buck hours later.  Appears to be a portion of an antler of another buck to his left on his chest/neck shot in the last picture.  I think he must have been browing on the hawthorn bush the cam was attached to. Date and time are obviously wrong on the photos, but I have now corrected that.

Congrats on the land purchase!  Makes sense now of some of Yelp's pictures.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

That is really cool to be able to do that remotely. Saves on a bit a fuel huh?
You planning to build over there ?

Does save on fuel, both vehicle and leg power as that particular cam did require a good uphill hike.  However the new ATV/UTV trails I had put in last weekend now make it easier to access everything (see photo).  A little more expense up front for the cellular cams and service, but in the long run worth it in my opinion.  I also have regular non cellular cams up on the property as well, that I'll check whenever I go over.

Not planning on building at the moment, with the possible exception of a pole barn storage facility in the next couple years where I had the dozer guy level out an 80x80 RV/campsite spot for use now.

I have three bars on my Iphone with Verizon on site.  Cams are also Verizon, so assuming they have same.

Apparently the bear moved my camera slightly to the right.  Now instead of the opening in the middle of the frame, the tree that was on the left is in the middle.  Also that glowing stick tip on the left in previous pictures, now is clearly prominent in the frame as a branch.  Couple pictures from last night..........

Not sure what this is at the other cam.  Any guesses?  Thought it might be a deer with head down before, but the more I look at it it may be a bear heading to the right.
