H&R 12ga, with my trap reloads with reclaimed shot.

Thought steel shot was required? Have only hunted Ducks, maybe steel isn't the norm for everything?

Non toxic shot for upland game is area specific, mainly pheasant release sites and wildlife areas.  Check the 2015 waterfowl & upland game regulation, it's on page 18, as previously mentioned.

Shot grouse with #3  steel 3" :dunno: might not be required but it works. Actualy I was packing steel last year because I was jump shooting some beaver ponds too, in which case can't have lead in possesion.  I prefer #6 high brass 2 3/4" lead 12ga single as my go to grouse medicine, but grew up taking them with a single shot .22. Never got my first shotgun untill was im my 20's.
Still haven't got one with my recurve but it'll happen.

Thanks. Checked the regs. Seems like most area's cannot even have led shot in possession.

What areas are you hunting grouse? Most areas for grouse should not require non toxic shot.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

If you actually read p.18; you'll notice the areas for grouse are NOT steel/non-toxic shot. The private tree farms/lands around Kapowsin are not.
