Must have reloading manual?

Can anyone suggest a reloading manual or any other books that would be a must-have for new-to-the-hobby/addiction of reloading? Will be reloading rifle ammo.

to get started they make some small pamphlets based on caliber vs. buying the whole reloading manual.  I have a couple of reloading manuals from Nosler and such and they still have the plastic on them.  They are good place to start, but the smaller versions work best.

The one whose manufacturer you will use the most bullets. Otherwise, Sierra.  I have Hornady, Nosler, and a few others.  It is always nice to cross reference data.  Also worthwhile are those single caliber compilations of every manufacturers' data by Loadbooks USA.

most of the manufacturer's websites will have the data.  You can print off what you need.  Some require inputs like powders/bullets--you can click on more than one at a time and get a whole list for combos.

I like having the Hodgdon manual, as I pretty much only use Hodgdon powder. They also make IMR powder so that's included in their data as well, along with Winchester powder. It's a good manual to have. It's a good idea to have a manual from the bullet manufacturer of the bullets that you are loading, especially if you are using Barnes bullets, or any other 100% copper bullet.

I like the Hodgen/IMR/Winchester manual, they are all the same company. And as said get the book version of the bullets your are using if they are all copper. I will see if I can round some up at the ShotShow in January, that's where I got mine.

As a beginner, I bought the Lee manual and read it about three times cover to cover before even buying equipment.  It has good info on how to reload, some stuff about their different equipment, and loads for several different powders, bullets and different rounds.  Next I bought a caliber specific pamphlet and now I am thinking of getting a Hornady manual since they are what I use the most.

I rarely use any other manual than the Nosler manual. I do what the Nosler book says to do. I look/read all the other manuals, but always fall back to my Nosler book.

I have a few Noslers diff. editions, speer, Hornady, a few,  I find the Sierra manual the most thorough. one that matches your bullets is why I have several.
I have an old Phillip Sharpe book out of the 50's also.

Hodgdon.com is an excellent source.  I rarely open up my pre-interent manuals as there is better info on the internet from experienced loaders.

Both of these are GREAT for new and old reloaders. I would highly recommend both of them as well as whatever bullet they will be using & the powder manufacturer's resources online.
