I'd like to know what bullet they were shooting, lathe turned maybe, and, besides verrrrrrrrrryyyy longgggggggggggg, I wonder what the time of flight for that setup is.
X2 on the wind. I've talked to Shawn Carlock about this many times and he always tells me, being good at shooting long distance is all about reading the wind and making the correct adjustment for it. You can dial in loads and you can build accurate rifles but if you miss the read on the wind, none of that other stuff matters, it'll be a miss.
VERY cool to make the hit but, for me, it would be considerable more impressive if they backed it up with another hit on the next round. Even if they just barely clipped the edge of that gong on the next shot, I'd consider it much more of a success.
