awfully small for a wolf ttrack

Not being rude but that's a joke right? My 90 pound labs tracks are smaller than that and labs have wide round paws for swimming

None of the long bones are crushed either.  I don't think it's a wolf kill.  I'm curious to hear why some of you do....

I don't see a skull in the pic... you sure it wasn't an archery kill that was boned out?

I hate to hear of wolves in 340...

Skull is towards the left side in the pic and upside down. Not saying its forsure a wolf kill. I've found more than a few dead critters especially after the early archery season.... This just happened to be the only one with eye shot of wolf tracks. (They are wolf tracks BTW, little under 5" across. Unless maybe someone was taking a St Bernard for a walk far off the beaten path.) This was between ice water and shadow crk.

Sounds like they have far exceeded their original range and it is time for a controlled hunt. Hate to see them in these great game areas.

Agreed.  Coastal California (that's where GMU 340 is, right?) is no place for gray wolves:

I would have guessed those as Sylvester's.

Not many know who Sylvester is any more.

No offense, but my money is on somebody killed that cow and boned it out the way everything lays in that pic. Definately a feline track though.

I have archery hunted that area since 2001. Either 2008 or 2009 I seen a wolf in shadow creek. I will do some digging and see if I can find the photo. It also was feeding on a cow... They certainly have been in that area over the yrs..Thanks for sharing,
