Nice BT
« on: October 29, 2015, 09:26:28 AM »
Been watching this guy grow up for the last couple years. He was just in my pasture checking out a doe to see if she was ready yet and no dice so he jumped the fence and went to the neighbor's place and trashed a tree for about 10 minutes. Rattled some horns earlier and he didn't seem to give a rip about that. Got a smaller 2pt. hanging around too.

If I was starving I probably would but it's nice seeing them around. Somebody will probably pop him just cuz he has some nice head gear. Somebody tried doing that to his dad a couple years ago and he was left running around here with an arrow stuck in his upper neck. He lasted thru a winter then when Spring came around a neighbor gal saw him in her yard and called the Sheriff and they came out and put him down. He seemed to be doing ok til then.

I'm seeing a ton of great Kitsap Bt's this year and I love it! Good job catching him in the day light too  and it sounds like you've got some good genetics there.

He's brother I'm guessing got hit by a car this summer and had to be put down. He was a nice wide 3x2 same as the one with the arrow. I'm thinking the one with the arrow was their dad. There's been some nice wide bucks in the area for over 20yrs.. I found a shed from one that was a nice 2pt.. A couple weeks ago I had 8 does and fawns and this wide 2pt. sniffing one of them between my place and the neighbors. Fun to watch.
