which unit would you put in for. im leaning towards modern firearm elk this season so i will be putting in for cow tags. im not to sure i want to put in for bull tags.

which would be your number 1,2,3.

I'd put in for
Teanaway Bull.  It's in late December.  Awsome hunt and good chance to get drawn. 
Then Observatory Bull.
Then Manastash Cow
Then Taneum Cow.

why not put in for bull tags ?

True how many points do you have?  At least put in for all bull tags except your last one.

i dont have any points at all. this will be my first year putting in for any tags.

the reason i say cow tags, is i feel i have a better chance (given the time of year) to get a cow then finding and closing the deal on a bull.

plus i like the odds of getting a cow tag better. so i have a little better chance of getting drawn and im not just hoping to get a bull tag and just taking the point...

Well I'd still put in for two bull tags first and then two cow tags.  Who knows you might get lucky.  Also the bull season starts 3 days before the regular season where the cow season starts like four days later.  So sometimes a cow is harder to get than a branch bull.
