I wouldn't mind running across a November bear this year.  They are so fluffy and tasty this late in the year

This guy has put up.shop in my favorite hotspot for big Muleys.    Two days in a row, not a single deer in the area.  In 25 years, that has never happened in this spot.   Well, both days I bumped into this guy.  I'm guessing he is to blame.  Convienent scapegoat anyway.

Add 100lbs and that's my dream bear! 9 degrees forecasted for Wed, so I doubt ill be seeing any bears till spring

Is it worth going out this time of the year for bear up in the mountains? Haven't seen any bears for a while now... Gets depressing not seeing anything for a long time

I just don't know where to focus my attention. The scat I have found lately is all grass but grass is kind of everywhere. Maybe I'll have to just try call again.

Not sure where you're hunting but bears will feed on what's available.  If you're only seeing grass then check out the south facing open slopes where the grass started growing after the first fall rains.  Preferred locations for most grazers.  Another favorite location down low are the grassy edges along closed roads going through jack fir stands.  If you're in Western Wash likely to be a lot of goo in the feces and that's most likely mushrooms.  Elk, deer and bears are mushroom hogs in the fall.  Highly digestible and don't show up well in the feces.  Some years I've had bears (some very large) totally clean out the Chanterelle and Matsutake patches in the old growth I hunt during late buck.

This guy and his friends are hammering snow berries and Rosehips.   Few mountain ash in the area.  I think the bloom must have frosted.
