Bear Hunters muzzle loading Season(up dated)
« on: November 17, 2015, 05:24:20 PM »
Well....... I didn't get my westside bear but deer opener over east I did. I was walking a old road and seen a few whitetails but no bucks. Walked it a couple of miles and turned back. I was about 1oo plus yards from my truck and I jumped a bear. I through up my muzzle and fired. I reloaded fast and I could here sticks breaking. So I moved in slowly to put another round in her. I spotted her and fired..... Hmmmmm *censored* shot over her back but she didn't run off. So I loaded again and tried for one more shot and then she ran up a tree. I fired again but I can't tell if I am hitting my mark. Then I seen her legs drop but she is still moving her head. I walked back to the truck to get more water and meet my buddy. 15 minutes later we moved in to see if she is still alive. We couldn't tell so I shot her in the head with my muzzleloader. Well she was dead...... but 50 ft up a tree........lol ......... got her down and will just leave it at that. My first muzzleload Bear Cinnamon. Now about the deer hunting. Not much to same exept passed on a million whitetail doe's but no bucks. I did see one buck but missed him. Later that day my buddy spotted 2 doe's and I was able to take the bigger one at 56 yards. Droppped  her with my Knight Big Horn .50 cal muzzleloader. I used 250gr Barnes ezloader bullets. They did the job on both animals perfect. Now just waiting for Thanksgiving to come. I HAVE A 2ND DEER TAG FOR LOPEZ ISLAND. I CAN'T WAIT. Well I hit the island and jumped one first 20 min's in to the hunt. Pushed her to a buddys kid. Well he missed her. Then he asked if coon was open. I asked way and Jesse told me he jump one up a tree. So we went to find the tree. Yep the he is a njce coon. So he took aim and bagged his first coon with my CVA sxs. Happy kid but bummed he missec the deer. He had missed 3 deer in 3 days. I think bhck fever had some thing to do with it. The is alway next season. At least he got off 3 *censored*s and bagged a coon. I found a nice big doe friday morning the 2 day of are hunt. Shot her at 8 yards and down. Used my knight big horn. Well now it is small game and bird. See you guys next season. Love reading all the storys and looking at all the pictures.

My wife complains about the conditions / all the products in my pickup bed. Wait until I show her the pic of yours.  :yike:

Congrats on two successful hunts.
