Disaster averted
« on: December 22, 2015, 09:45:13 PM »
So i have 19 people coming over tomorrow for a family get together, pulled pork is on the menu so i got 14lbs all rubbed down and ready to go yesterday,  got up this morning to get it in the smoker, got it set up and on, temp rising, smoke spiraling out the vents all looked good
put the butts in at 9am with the temp at 191 and rising to the target 230...all is good so i head out to run errands...

Come home a few hours later and check the digital thermo, 43degress WTH....the smoker is cold, says heating and the power light is on but it is cold to the touch......element failure i guess...pull them out and quick get them in the oven at 275, they get to target internal temp and then some, letting them rest before pulling....all seems ok...

WHEW!!!!!!

Other than not "smoked" they should be tasty... :EAT:
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

Hey! I'm not a complete idiot I have parts missing. Though sometimes I wonder.

If you want to make God laugh tell him your plans.
