Huns or quail on the klickitat?
« on: January 14, 2016, 04:03:49 AM »
Heading to visit some friends in klickitat today and will have my pointer (never leave home without him) but was wondering if anyone has hunted or could maybe point me in the right direction since I have never bird hunted around there. Not looking for your spot but possibly an area I can get him out and work him maybe get on a few birds
I have heard guys that deer hunt around there say they get into huns every now and again any help would be much appreciated and won't forget it if you ever need anything in my neck of the woods. Thank you

Were you able to get out and find anything? If you look on the WDFW gohunt site you'll see properties in the areas that are open or that will allow access. I believe there is a pheasant release site near the trout hatchery.

We usually fish the canyon in the Fall, it's still too warm then to hunt upland with all the snakes in the area.

Never did find any birds. I did get permission and hunted a bunch of the dfw land but came up empty. Ended up heading across the river and spent sat and sunday with a buddy in ore. He just got a springer pup about 6 months ago so we worked his dog and mine on quail. Good time seen lots of country some new and some i already know. It was just nice to let my pointer get out and run for this time of year is hectic and i dont get him out of the house enough.
